It is the mutual exchange of understanding, originating with the reciever. Therefore communication needs to be effective both in our business and our personal lives..

Communication is the essence of management. The basic functions of management (Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing and Controlling) cannot be performed well without effective communication.

Communication involves constant flow of information and feedback is integral part of the process. Be it a large organization or a family unit they both involve a number of people and there are various levels of hierarchy in them. Greater the number of levels, the more difficult is the job of managing or working within the organization. Communication here plays a very important role in the process of directing and controlling people within the oragnization or family unit.

Immediate feedback can be obtained and misunderstandings if any can be avoided. There should be effective communication between superiors and subordinated in an organization, between organization and society at large and all parties within a family or relationship.

Proper communication is essential for success and growth in all relationships, business and personal , it is therefore essential that communication gaps do not occur .
